Back on the road

Two weeks ago I flew to Munich for a Pro-Am organised by one of my fellow professionals, Martina Eberl, who is about to go off on maternity leave. There were eight professionals whom she invited to play, it was one round followed by a dinner in the evening on the Friday night so I flew back to Hamburg on Saturday morning. It was good fun and we had a nice group of girls playing.
A week last Monday I met with two guys from Eurosport as they wanted to film me for a day or so for part of what is called ‘The Wednesday Selection’ on Eurosport which was on this week. We met at St Dionys for the interview on the Monday afternoon and found a shaded place to sit where we could shoot it. It probably took about fifteen minutes but obviously they cut it down massively for the programme. Most of the questions were quite straight forward and I’m getting used to answering the same types of questions, particularly following my win in Holland. I showed them around the golf club and we talked about what they wanted to film the following day.
We agreed to meet on the Tuesday morning, again at the golf club so that they could get some filming of me hitting some shots on the course, on the range and also interview my father who is my coach. After that, we went into Hamburg as they wanted to shoot some footage away from golf so we decided to go on a boat trip on the lake in Hamburg which was fun. They asked me some more questions and filmed the surroundings from the boat and then I had lunch with them before we went our separate ways. I enjoyed it and it was good to have a bit of a break from golf before I got stuck in again.
I am back on the road again and have a very exciting couple of weeks ahead of me. This week I am playing in The Evian Masters presented by Societe Generale in Evian-Les-Bains, France. This is the first time I have played in this event and I feel honoured to be playing alongside the best players in the world. My win in Holland gained me entry into the event so I am very excited.
I had a couple of days back home in Hamburg after shooting the Eurosport ‘Wednesday Selection’ so I was able to get in some quality practice. I flew to France on Sunday afternoon so I spent most of the morning on Sunday packing for the next couple of weeks. I am a nightmare when it comes to packing, it takes me so long! You would think I would be getting better with all the travelling I am doing but I’m not! One of the problems was the dress codes for dinners as they stated ‘smart casual’ and I always find it hard to know what people will interpret that as.
Before I arrived, I had presumed that I wouldn’t be playing in any of the Pro-Ams which was why I travelled out on Sunday but when I got here I found out that I was down to play in the Rolex Pro-Am on Wednesday. I guess it is no bad thing as I have had an extra practice round on the course.
I went to the Welcome Dinner on Tuesday night which all players were invited to but not many turned up. With this tournament being new to me, I wanted to make the most of all the opportunities that I have so I wanted to attend all the functions possible. I’m most looking forward to The Gala Dinner on Saturday where everyone has to wear something that is white. Fortunately I already had a beautiful white sequin dress which I wanted to wear and I have some gorgeous Gucci silver shoes to wear with it. I can’t wait as I love getting all dressed-up!
